Confined Space Rescue Syllabus
Our 4 Hour Confined Space Rescue Program is intended for personnel who enter confined spaces during emergencies for the purpose of effecting entry rescues. This program is designed to provide initial hands-on practice for simulated entry operations from actual or representative permit spaces. Rescue personnel, according to 29 CFR 1910.146 (k)(1)(ii), shall receive training to perform their assigned non-entry rescue duties and shall also receive the training required of "authorized entrants" under paragraph (g) of the same standard. Additionally, rescue team members must be trained in basic first aid and CPR, which shall be conducted and documented under a separate training curriculum by another supplier.
The programs can be customized as it relates to entries and entry rescues from confined spaces and will be performance-based per OSHA with an emphasis on your chemical inventory, confined space entry operations and written safety program. Your company shall provide a copy of its written confined space program as it will be the primary contributor to customization, allowing for training on your company's specific policies and procedures. Classroom instruction will be combined with field exercises that enable trainees to demonstrate basic proficiency with the required skills. To ensure that trainees will be able to transfer the skills from the course to the job, the field exercises will simulate their actual jobs or task as closely as possible.
